Charles Henry "Chuck" Koozer died from a heart ailment Saturday,
May 29, 1982 in Salina, Utah, at the age of 42.
Chuck was born November 10, 1939 in Broken Bow where he lived for most
of his life. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, was active in
high school sports and league baseball, served in the U.S. Coast Guard, and
attended Phoenix College and Arizona State University. He managed Broken Bow
Wholesale until he moved to Salina in the June of 1979.
As a member of the Board of Directors of the Broken Bow Chamber of
Commerce, Chuck served as its president in 1976. He had also been
chairman of the Broken Bow Community Improvement Council from 1975-77,
a member of the Broken Bow Tree Board 1977-78, and scoutmaster of
Troop 48 Boy Scouts of America from 1971 to 1977. He received the
Distinguished Service Award from the Broken Bow Jaycees in 1978.
Chuck is survived by his wife Donna and son Hal of Salina, Utah;
his daughter Pamela of Phoenix, Arizona; his brothers Robert Jr. and
family of Omaha and Robin and wife of Hastings, Nebraska;
and his parents, Robert and Frances Koozer of Lincoln.
His body was willed to the University of Utah for medical research.
A memorials fund was established to the Broken Bow Optimist Club.
