Xfce released in 1997 XForms Common Environment rewritten
and does not use the XForms toolkit anymore.
Xfce aims to be fast and lightweight yet visually appealing
and easy to use. Embodies traditional Unix modularity with
separately packaged parts to provide all functions of desktop,
but can be selected in subsets to suit user needs and preferences.

is entirely mouse-driven w configuration files hidden. No desktop
animations, but supports compositing.
